1979-1986 Mustang
1979 marked the launch of the third-generation Mustang, based on a brand new platform. It also marked the departure of Lee Iacocca, the man responsible for the Mustang. Enthusiasm for the Mustang would slowly come back in the mid 80's, as the introducton of High Output 5.0L and Turbocharged SVO's slowly won back the power fanatics. |

i grafted on capri fenders and quarters, swapped the big block and 4 speed in, converted it to 5 lug 4 wheels discs, changed the bumpers and such to 87-93 gt stuff, converted the interior to the same year model stuff, custom built an autometer gauge cluster, and various bracketry and such, and converted it to hydraulic clutch, waitin to get a better rear bumper, fix a couple of dings that have happened since i worked the parts the first time, and paint it |

I have had this car since new while being a junior in high school. Engine is a 342 stroker motor that naturally aspirated will lay down 11.90's in the 1/4. With a 175 shot of NOS, car will do 10.3 @ 130mph. Travis Franklin built engine and Dynamic Racing Transmissions puts it all to the ground via a C-4 SuperComp with a custom TCT torque convertor with 3800 stall. As of May 2004, trans was sent to Dynamic for a refresh and upgrades including a trans brake. Engine got new TrickFlow forged crank, CompCams ProMagnum rockers, Canton oil pan and main girdle and Jet-Hot coated headers. |

Right now there's nothing too crazy on here, but she's got K&N, Hedman equal length shortie hedders, 2.5" exhaust and Dynomax UltraFlo mufflers. To add a little shine to the engine bay, I've also added a set of polished aluminum Ford Racing valve covers as well. I've currently got a pile of parts waiting to be installed: A fully rebuilt '87 8.8 rearend w/FRPP 3.73's, Koni adustible struts & shocks, '88 spindles, Energy Suspension front and rear CA bushings, and MM full-length subframes. I'm also still looking to replace the springs and LCAs, but haven't gotten around to grabbing t |
