Ranchero
The Ranchero was produced from 1957 through 1979. This unique vehicle was the first car with a truck bed. In the 23 years of total production, there were a total of 508,355 units produced. Chevrolet proceeded to try and duplicate their own version of the Ranchero in 1959, but the Ranchero was the original "car truck". |

It sports a slightly-built 302 with cast iron heads containing smoothed ports, 1.94 intake valves and 1.74 exhaust valves, Edelbrock aluminum intake, Holley 600 four-barrel carb. This is a '78 Ranchero 500 powered by a 351M-2V and C-4 tranny that was wrecked in the front end with front bumper & clip damage as well as the left side fender. As all are fixable, I have removed the front clip, bumper and pumper frame posts to take to the frame shop to be straightened. I have a used front clip that will go back on. This car runs fairly well so will sweeten the engine and tranny then drive it while I finish Dad's '72 GT. |

My Dad's old 1972 Ranchero GT powered by a 351C-2V that I'm rebuilding. So far the suspension has been completely rebuilt with OEM parts, the engine has been through the shop and updated with an Edelbrock Performer Intake & Holley 650 double pumper and MSD ignition and the C4 has been rebuilt. It also has a new brake booster & master cylinder. Left to do is to remove the body from the frame, blast and paint the frame and perform body under body work then put it back together. I've also bought steel smoothie rims & will buy tires later this week. After that will be the interior and |
