Fairmont
The demise of the Maverick spawned a more compact model, the Fairmont. The Fairmont shared the Fox chassis and was designed with an emphasis on efficiency and fuel economy. Easy serviceability and an optional 302 makes it a favorite for those who desire power in an modest package today. |

Driveline is 351C/C6/9". Weiand X-celerator/750 Holley, 302C Aussie heads, ProMustang swap headers, 10" converter, 3.70 gears. Rear suspension: HP Megabite Jrs and Koni adjustable shocks. Front suspension is going to be D&D tubular K-member and a-arms and HAL coilover struts, with SN95 brakes/hubs. I'm planning to take my Fairmont to the dragstrip this year. I am building a ground effects package for it similar to 87-93 Mustangs. |

this is the 1983 Fairmont Futura that i just bought today.this is 2nd Futura i have owned i previously had a '79 that i loved and hated to let go of but circumstances as they were i didn't have much choice but that was then now i have this one and intend on making the most of it.I don't have any real grandiose plans for the car as the budget won't allow me to go too overboard.over time i will add as much as possible.it currently has a 3.3 inline 6 but eventually want to drop in a V6 with EFI.anyway i look forward to any input over members may as i really would like to see this project through. |
