The demise of the Maverick spawned a more compact model, the Fairmont. The Fairmont shared the Fox chassis and was designed with an emphasis on efficiency and fuel economy. Easy serviceability and an optional 302 makes it a favorite for those who desire power in an modest package today. |

1977 Fairmont GXL

Aussie built Four door Fairmont. Came standered with 351 now 387. Auto was an FMX and is now a C10 with 2,500 stall. Thick wall tail shaft and disc brake nine inch. Colour is Sun Rise Red. Whheels are Gliden Prostars. 8.5" rears and the fronts are 7". The trim is black cloth, and has wind back sun roof and power windows. car is australian assembled,bought to new zealand in 1991,running 351 cleveland roller c4,disc drake 9" 3:1 gears for street and 4.11:1 for strip,tci 2500 converter(to small i know) nugget gold paint and 15 by 8 ar136 american racing alloys.
engine is 10.5 to 1 comp,aussie small port heads,ported,manley valve gear,triple springs,10 degree locks,moly retainers,moly push rods,all bolts and studs are arp,redline single plane torker intake,holley 750 modified,custom electronic ignition,solid cam,k.b pistons,childs n albert rings,worked rods etc,all balanced |
