1967-1968 Mustang
By 1967, competition in the pony car market was noticeably stiffer. An all new body was used in '67 but styling remained the same. By the end of 1967 Mustang accounted for 6.2% of all cars produced in the United States. Only subtle appearance changes were made to the '68 model but Ford now offered a 302 and 390 in the Mustang. The 427 was also offered for a short while to be replaced by the 428. |

This picture was taken when I first purchased the car. Originally a 6 cylinder automatic, the motor was swapped out for a 306 with a fresh C4. The dark moss green color was freshened up using PPG basecoat clearcoat, a new interior installed along with new suspension, disc brakes, a Randallsrack rack and pinion steering set up and a Flaming River tilt column. I"m waiting for warm weather to pull it out of the garage so I can get a newer pic so this one will have to do for now. |
