1967-1968 Mustang
By 1967, competition in the pony car market was noticeably stiffer. An all new body was used in '67 but styling remained the same. By the end of 1967 Mustang accounted for 6.2% of all cars produced in the United States. Only subtle appearance changes were made to the '68 model but Ford now offered a 302 and 390 in the Mustang. The 427 was also offered for a short while to be replaced by the 428. |

It's been sold. It was my first muscle car. A fun A-code with minor upgrades and a 4-speed. I miss the 4-speed. |

This is my 67 GT-500. It took me over 8 years to build. It sports a 6 bolt main all aluminum shelby 427. It was stroked to 456 cubic inches. It has Carrol shelby aluminum heads with stage 2 porting. They have 2.25 intake and 1.78 exhaust valves. I used a c8ax ford striptriper cam. 610 lift and 322 duration. Topped off with a tunnelwedge intake and BJ/BK shelby carbs. The Trans is a 4 speed top loader and the rear is a 9 inch 4.10 detroit locker. |
