1967-1968 Mustang
By 1967, competition in the pony car market was noticeably stiffer. An all new body was used in '67 but styling remained the same. By the end of 1967 Mustang accounted for 6.2% of all cars produced in the United States. Only subtle appearance changes were made to the '68 model but Ford now offered a 302 and 390 in the Mustang. The 427 was also offered for a short while to be replaced by the 428. |

750cfm Holley dp, vic. jr. intake, solid roller cam, Edelbrock Vic Jr. heads, stock bottom end, C4, 10" converter, 9" rear, 4.10 gears. This car was raced at the dragstrip most of its life (even has tow brackets welded to the core support). The front 3.5"x15", rear 10"x15" Fenton slotted mags came with car when I bought it a few years back along with a huge hoodscoop that I changed out for a Boss 429 scoop (I couldn't see out of the car with the old scoop!). Recently added a rollbar and a 150hp shot of nitrous and haven't been back to dyno to see true rear wheel h |

This is our 68 J code coupe that was built in San Jose Cal. and sold in Chico Ca.. The dealer special ordered the yellow paint and the Marti report says 831 was built with this paint and trim code. It has been well taken care of all its life and is still in the original condition. We all the time have people think when they see it that it has been restored. So far it has been a fun car. |
