A predecessor to the musclecar era, the Galaxie was Ford's fullsize competitor. Introduced in 1959 and running through the musclecar era until 1972, the Galaxie and its' various submodels produced many powerful machines. |

Owned since 1988. Car originally from Washington. Thought to have been brought to Australia in 1977 for government use. Converted to right hand drive in mid 80's.
It is now 460 big block powered, has a c6 trans and a 9" rear end.

This is my on going, long term project. Bought it in 81, from a friend, for $175. It has had 3 transmissions, 4 engines (FE's 352, 390, 428...Lima 429), 3 rear ends (3:25, 3:50, 3:89) and 3 soon to be 4 paint jobs. This is a keeper. Oh, did I mention... No, this ain't no porch pooch, it can run with the big dogs.
Got the new motor in, changed transmissions (another C-6), front disc brake swap...now just have to get the little things out of the way. |

I picked this up a couple weeks ago. It had been stored away for the past 20 years. It is a totally stock, numbers matching 1970 Ford XL with a 429 4V with cruise-o-matic transmission. The car was repainted back in the 80's, the interior is just about perfect (other than the dash cracks) and it runs like a top. I LOVE this car! |
