My 1965 Galaxie sports a 396 ci FE, with ported C4AE-G low riser heads, an Offenhauser Port O Sonic intake, Crites long tube headers, Xpipe, Crower Cam, Dove roller rocker arms, Holley/ProForm 750 DP, a RAM clutch/pressure plate, a close ratio toploader 4 speed, and 3.70 geared positraction. The rear lower control arms are boxed in, with a tubular upper, and Lakewood drag shocks. The front end is completely stock except for the Crites tear drop hood. Never run at the drag strip yet, but have outrun several Corvettes and Camaros. |

"Fireball" is a street-legal tribute to the legendary NASCAR driver Fireball Roberts and replicates of one of his last super-speedway cars driven before his death. It is a modest restoration, built from a torched theft recovery. It was intended from the outset to replicate an historic NASCAR racer as visually accurate as possible both outside and inside (the interior features a 6-point rollcage, vintage instrumentation, and custom "racing seat"), yet still be street legal. Wheels are 15x6.5 factory steelies. Power comes from a fairly mild 289 backed by a C-4, with future up |
